THE TOURNAMENT

The 2013 Martin Luther King Dream Classic is set to run this Saturday, Sunday and Monday with a loaded field of competing boys and girls basketball teams. In addition to featuring many of the top teams in Illinois, the event will also showcase teams from 9 other states. The 3-day event was created by coach Dorothy Gators of Marshall High School honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his legacy and also to feature the upcoming talent of high shool basketball athletic superstars.

The event is a who's who of Chicagoland high school basketball, with 38 games on two live courts simultaneously over three days at Whitney Young High School. Schools from Indiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Texas are also on board.

The event is sponsored by Chicago Marshall High School, and Congressman Danny K. Davis.
